Dr. Irene Scruton
Dr. Irene Scruton is a certified coach and member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) She is also a member of the staff and faculty at the State University of New York at Oswego. Throughout Dr. Scruton’s 25 year professional and academic career, she has mentored and coached working professionals through professional transitions in their lives.
Dr. Scruton’s responsibilities at SUNY Oswego as Assistant Dean and Director of MBA Programs in the School of Business, include oversight of the full time, part time and offsite MBA programs delivered in class and online. The MBA online program was ranked nationally by US News & World Report as the #1 MBA online program for public institutions in New York State She is a 2019 recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award
for her contributions in professional service.
Prior to joining Oswego, Dr. Scruton was a senior level executive for more than 20 years in banking, government and the nonprofit sector and is an engaged community contributor through board service, coaching, and consulting.
Dr. Scruton served on the boards of community organizations including the inaugural board of Syracuse Regional Airport Authority. She was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Food Bank of CNY and is serving on the Board of Directors for Microwave Filter, a manufacturer for the satellite and cable industry. She is the recipient community awards from the NY-Penn GirlScouts and the CNY Red Cross. Dr. Scruton earned her doctorate degree from St. John Fisher College, an MBA from Syracuse University and a bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She lives in Central New York.
